About Me
- Name: Jason
- Location: Lethbridge, Alberta
My wife and I now reside in Canada's windy city. Wesla and I met while attending Alberta Bible College. We were married in 2001, the year after I graduated with a Bachelor of Theology degree. For a brief time we served as a part of a church planting team in Saskatoon until I was called to be the pastor of St. Thomas Christian Church (Disciples) in St. Thomas, Ontario. In September of 2004 we moved to back to Alberta where I re-entered the world of a full time student. I am currently pursuing a teaching degree at the University of Lethbridge. My aspiration is to acquire an second trade that will allow me to serve in the church in a "tent-making" capacity... perhaps we will even make another go at church planting.

Very nice car. When we were looking for our next vehicle we looked at the Escapes but we got an awesome deal with a Saturn Vue (which seemed to fit me better as well - plus more room inside).
The Ford Escapes are rated nicely!
Just what the world needs - more SUV drivers feeling better about it by getting slightly better fuel economy. :)
Can a vehicle with a 4-cyl motor really be considered an SUV?
Sure why not? What exactly makes an SUV - an SUV? Mine isn't even a 4WD and I think it's an SUV.
IMHO, an SUV should be an SUV- and that ain't no SUV. If you can offroad in it (i.e. it's got 4 wheel drive, a giant engine with massive torque, and high clearance), then it's an SUV. Otherwise, call it what you like, it's no SUV.
Not meaning to turn this into a debate but an SUV is a Sport Utility Vehicle. Meaning, the shape, style and purpose is what defines the SUV category - not engine size, 4WD or gas mileage.
The latter description is usually defined by rednecks trying to stroke their ego!
I just think that SUV's represent the final descent of this civilization into the same industrial wasteland that we created it to avoid.
Matt,
I can remember the time, quite a few years ago, when you had the opportunity to drive a Lincoln Navigator (I believe it was your brother-in-laws or something like that). I can remember you describing how it made you feel like the 'king of the road'. In light of your recent comments, must I conclude that those feelings were nothing more than temptations beckoning you to join the dark side?
Actually, I am just trying to sound hip and environmental. The anti-consumerism part of hates the SUV, but the car buff side of me loves the feeling of driving a huge, powerful vehicle. "... but I see another law at work in the members of my body, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within my members..." :)
Come on... if money was no object we'd all be driving Hummers. The H3 is the ultimate family wagon, wouldn't you say?
